Yeah? You don't look like you've gotten much sleep.

[Maya steps around him and over the side of the pool, seeming to just drop into the water for a second, before the inky black pool where her legs was reforms into an orca's tail. There's not like, a lot of room for them both in this pool, but it's fine. She's going to sit beside him here, like two bros on the basketball court.

Except unlike a bro, Maya leans over Dandy (absolutely splashing water around but, like, do they care?) so she can push his hair out of his face.]

Sorry.

[Ah, there it is, that part of his brain that finally clicks and suddenly movement returns to his body. He quickly wraps his arms around her, not a single ounce of hesitation, he's sure there aren't any lingering spikes left on her body.

He lifts his head up to her shoulder, rest his face in the crook of her neck. She's right, he hasn't gotten any sleep at all, this whole mess just wrecked him.]

Nah, you're good... [He emphasizes with a small squeeze.] I missed you so much...

[Opposite Maya totally didn't miss any of this. It wasn't as if she'd hated Dandy and even Makoto, no, they just hadn't been important to her any more at all. But in those moments of truthfulness that had turned into such fear after she'd hurt Makoto, Maya had missed Dandy desperately. When his arms are around her, Maya's calm facade breaks down, and she squeezes him back.]

I'm sorry.

[She can't help it, even if he's said it's all good!]

I didn't-

[Of course he knows she didnt want to. What's the point of saying that?]

I wasn't-

[he knows she wasn't thinking clearly.]

[Say something useful!!]

[That seems suitable enough before she turns her head to hide her face in Dandy's longer hair.]

[Damn, he can't really blame her, he supposes he'd be a mess too if he was some kind of Nega Dandy. No one wants to say or do things they don't mean, it's kinda like how they hate having to eat people.

Only now it's worse.

Yeah, no, it sucked, and he's just glad it's over. Dandy takes a hand and starts to stroke the back of her head, letting his claws gently glide into her own flowy, wavy hair. Letting himself enjoy that nice squeeze against his body, something he didn't realize he'd miss so much in just a short matter of days.]

No foolin'? Well, I love you, too.

[He tries to make light of it, because that's just what they do, right? Poor Maya... He can't even begin to imagine what she went through. It's one thing to just become the opposite of yourself, but she was switching back and forth, he saw it himself on his computer screen. It must've been like some sort of horrible internal battle, having to fight an inner demon so to speak.

She's so strong.]

I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for you. You must've been so lonely. I hate that, y'know? You don't deserve to be lonely like that...

[She couldn't help but think of what she'd say to that- that it would havr been better if she'd been alone the whole time, but no one really says things like this to Maya. No one's ever really been this gentle with her. Even as she takes a breath explain it catches in her throat and she only ends up squeezing Dandy tighter.]

It's- it's okay,

[She forces out shakily, shaking her head and sniffling.]

I got to come back to you.

[Jeez, at this rate, she's gonna make him start sniffling. Thankfully, he's had a long time to practice the art of hiding his feelings. Hilarious coming from the guy who would tell anyone else it's okay to cry.]

Heh, well, I waited every night for you, so I'm glad it finally paid off.

[Actually, speaking of feelings...]

You can cry if you want to, I won't stop you. It was tough, but you made it, you don't have to hold back anymore.

I don't wanna cry!

[Says Maya, like a baby, crying anyway, the tips of her claws pressing into Dandy's back.]

I wanna be happy to see you! I am happy to see you!!

It just... Sucks.

[She whines against his neck.]

[Ah, so they're both the babies.]

They can be happy tears too, y'know.

[His hand continues to cradle the back of his head, his chest bouncing from a small chuckle he can't contain. Yup, Maya's back for sure, he wouldn't trade her for the world.]

Wish you could've seen me with some pants on, kinda caught me in a weird spot. ...Not that you seem to have a problem with it~~

[Maya pulls back enough so that she can look at him, leaning on her palm and puffing out her cheeks despite the teardrops on her eyelashes.]

Weren't you too sleepy to flirt a minute ago?

Gonna pass out any minute.

[Said, of course, with the biggest grin as Maya looks at him like that. ...But he means it, he is...so tired.]

But cut me some slack, it's been awhile~

Well, you can sleep on the way home. Your wonderful chauffeur has arrived.

[Maya walks her fingers up Dandy's middle and chest, and gives him that mischievous smile of hers. It's so easy to put a smile back on to play with him.]

Aaand once you rest up, then we can talk about making up for last week.

[Fingers having reached his collarbone, she raises her hand the rest of the way to pat Dandy's cheek, playful and rude.]

[Making up?

As in...?

Suddenly, Dandy's eyes grow wide, practically sparkle as Maya slaps his cheek. She can be as rude as she wants if it means he's FINALLY getting the make up sex he's been dreaming of-]

[And then he goes limp in her grasp, mouth hanging open as a loud snore admits from his stupid mouth.

He wasn't joking.]

...ah...

[And Maya is left there, staring at her stupid, sleeping husband. Ah well.

She'll let him sleep there a little while before she tries to drag them both out of that pool long enough to get legs again. Once belegged, she'll drag his dumb tail to the car and load up the dogs and get them home.

She considers herself lucky. For all this world throws at her... At least Dandy is always Dandy.]
