End o' the fog Nov 29ish

[Things since the poaching have been rough. Everyone is in an understandably weird mood about it, whether that mood be enraged or paranoid or busy or frightened or a mix of all of the above. But almost as if to give the monsters some reprieve, the fog returns again and the monsters begin to heal where before they simply couldn't die.It isn't instant, but Maya's among the monsters that begin to feel better, the most visible sign in the repairing of the skin on her neck. It takes nearly the whole fog for her stomach to repair, and as the fog tapers away Maya starts to worry her voice isn't going to come back at all.

All the same, as she's starting to feel better and more functional (and, as she's discovered through trial and error, can finally eat properly again) Maya tries not to linger on the worry. She's trying to follow Majima's lead of not wanting to be afraid, and trying not to worry Dandy, after all. It's become easier to get back into routine, especially now that she can look in the mirror and not see the inside of her neck, a very important detail for a mermaid's vanity, and with her gills back she can even play in the pool with Dandy once again- exactly what she's doing now, savoring the experience. A mermaid can't resist water and orcas love to play, so even the lack of talking she's been getting used to hasn't prevented her from trying to bother Dandy.

Right now's botherment is Maya playing with a simple air-filled ball, paddling it out of the water with the underside of her fluke. But it's boring playing alone! So she tosses it up and catches it in her hands before she beams it at Dandy. It's... really light, so it won't hurt when it inevitably smacks him, but it will make a satisfying sound.

...And get his attention, which is totally the point.]

[Even if the ball doesn't hit hard, Dandy's always in the mood to clown around. It slaps ever so nicely against his head, and that's his cue to let out the most startled yelp he can muster. A mix of his voice and the ear-shattering squeaks of a dolphin, and soon the other mer crashes against the surface of the water hard.

And then he sinks.

Poor him, what if he drowns???]

[As dramatic as Dandy is, Maya's way too used to him to fall for it and laughs, the splash a more distracting sound. Grinning, she swims his way, reaching over him to... grab the ball.]
