[Maya wouldn't agree with the claim if she could hear it. She's only been so worried because it frightened her; the warmth in the Fog's voice had been almost hypnotizing.

Morgan had spit horrible things from her mouth-- perhaps not as horrible as the Fog-- but she'd never been so warm. Even her praises of Mystic Maya had been cold and clearly obligatory, even if Maya'd always pretended otherwise. But the fog had spoken like--- like she'd forgive her--

In her desperation to get away from her own thoughts, Maya focuses on Dandy. She's not nearly obtuse enough to have missed that.]

[She asks, tilting her head a little. She thought for sure talking to her in the first place would make Dandy mad-- but it hadn't. So it can't be that. What about what she said had upset him?]

[Dandy blinks, escaping his own thoughts for a second before realizing how he must be looking right now.

He shakes his head, just a little, trying to force a smile to make sure she knows everything is a-okay. When aren't they? He's Dandy, after all.]

Dandy isn't a witness withholding truths. He's her friend and loves her. If there's something he needs to tell her, he will.]

[Maya's eyes widen and she draws in a quiet breath to hold, staring at Dandy in-- well, it isn't surprise at him, she knows this about him! But people don't tell her they love her so eagerly like this on the regular. It's still fresh in that way.]

[Her face even softens; it's true, she really does believe he loves her. He's done so much to prove it.]

[That's a lot harder to hear then he thought it would be, and Dandy feels something he doesn't feel very often.

There's a strong exhale out his nose as he weasels an arm behind himself just to rub the back of his head. This isn't something he likes to admit, but it looks like the time has finally come.]
